ADD Tools and uniform section for expenses

i was using plant and machinery on my expenses for hand tools andd couldnt figure out why it wasnt adding to my expences

Hi Stephen,
This is due to Plant and Machinery being a Fixed Asset account type and are not included in income and expenses for tax purposes, but can be claimed using capital allowances on the year end MTD tax return.
Alternatively, you can create new account codes under Settings > Account codes > Create account code for small tools and/or uniform by selecting Cost of Sales or the Expense account type.

Like many people that will be joining this community over the coming months most of us are not accountants so with the government forcing Making tax Digital on us having just the basic catorgorys ready to roll would be great

The basic categories should already exist for the Account Types and it is up to the user to select the appropriate one.
