Removal of unused / old nominal codes

It is frustrating that OLD codes appear on reports etc when they have not been used in forever. There should be an archive box that you can tick, and when producing a TB you can hide Archive accounts so that you don't get pages of zero value accounts. Simple to do, just have it that you can only archive accounts that have no balance / in year transactions?!

PD i am sure in years (way back) gone by that there was indeed an archive for the nominal ledger, to compress the data, though i may be getting confused with over software?
