Quote page bad layout

Idea suggested by Richard Worton 10 years ago

A recent update to your page layouts has some odd updates to say the least.

One which is proving frustrating for us is when editing a quote the details box is only one line height rather than displaying the entire box. If you have a long quote with multiple entries this makes it very time consuming to find the correct row to make an amend. It was MUCH more user friendly before. Any chance of a re-think on this? Its a very common task for everyone I'm sure.

I just noticed this too. But it only appears to happen if the amount of text in a single box is over a certain amount of characters. No Idea what that limit is. All I know is I have 2 line entries on a quote. One is many lines long, the other is only a half a dozen. The latter expands to allow decent editing view. The former does not.

Hi Ian Richard,

The box will display 52 characters on one line, however if you go beyond this and want to edit the description box, you can click on the description box and then click the down button, which should expand the box to display the extra characters/ lines in that box.

Please let me know if this is helpful.

Regards,

Shaz

Hi Shaz, yes i can see how it works. However its not good UX, if we have a long quote with multiple entires, its impossible to quickly scan the page and find an entry to edit. You need to click to expand each box before seeing if its the correct one to edit. It takes ages.

The box does not expand if it is over a certain amount of characters. I have one entry box that contains 80 lines worth of text and it will no longer display more than 3 lines at once. I think this is slightly different to Richard's issue but still related.
