CIS return filing

Problem reported by Tina Peters 9 years ago

Please check your CIS returns at the year end 2015/16. We had filed a client return for the period to 5/6/15 on 17/6/15 showing a liability (clear books showing a electronic submission).
When checking the employers HMRC record it was showing an over payment of the cis liability - we contacted HMRC and discovered there had been a nil return filed but no data had been captured for the period. We have corrected this return by phoning HMRC and they manually inputting the data over the telephone.
Can you please check to make sure this is not a more common problem.

Hi Tina,

This was an issue that was reported and fixed in June last year. I believe everyone affected was emailed in regards to the incorrect returns. For your account, it would have been the main contact that was emailed. The error was just for that June 2015 period. I checked our list of everyone that was contacted and can see the details on there. I believe in your case, it was a client account affected and the main contact on that account was the person that was contacted. But I can assure you that the problem was fixed and no other return periods were affected.

I'm sorry for the concern and inconvenience this issue caused. If you have any further questions, please do let us know.

Kind Regards,

Natasha
