Second user not able to see multiple currencies

Problem reported by Adrian Sutton 8 years ago

My accountant, who has access to my Clearbooks system under a separate user (but with all privileges granted) reports not seeing my foreign currency bank accounts in their true currency, i.e. Everything is showing as GBP. Is this a fault, or by design? What should I check?

Hi Adrian,

That sounds odd - the bank accounts will all report in the home currency (as all the reports need to be generated in this), however, there should be an option to switch between the two:

The main bank accounts menu should list them in the correct currency though. If you email contact support with the details of the user we can investigate further.

Thanks John It looks like this was the confusion. Once I got my accountants to look at the bank account transaction detail which is in USD, they were able to resolve things.. but not before we spent a morning back and forth trying to work out why the sterling amount showing on the balance sheet for the year end (31/8/16) didn't match up with the 'equivalent converted' sterling amount on my USD bank statement from the same date. Answer: forex movement since that point.. but it caused quite a lot of confusion their end. Does the balance sheet home currency use a conversion rate of 'right now' (i.e. the spot rate when the report is run) or the historic spot rate for the date in question (in this case 31/8/16)?
