Paypal feed issues

Problem reported by Rebecca Pearce 4 months ago

I've recently started using clearbooks - set it up and realised that the paypal feed wasn't including any paypal fees. It shows the total amount without any fees coming off.

I looked for help with this in the forum and saw that I should have adjusted some permissions in paypal before connecting it. So I made those changes, but since then the feed has not been importing at all.

I'm thinking the best thing would be to delete the feed and start it again - but I can't figure out how to do that. Could anyone advise on what I can do next to get the paypal feed working properly.

Hi Rebecca,

In this case, I would advise setting up our direct PayPal integration which will include the fees, please see:

How to use the automatic PayPal import tool

Please note, as you are on the Free plan, the navigation will be slightly different, you will need to head to Dashboard > Bank accounts > Add account.

Hello -

Thanks so I've done that - but that means I now have 2 paypal accounts. I've tried to delete the first one (the one which wasn't showing the fees) I assume when I set that up I didn't do tick box about fees showing up! And hopefully the new one will be okay, but could you tell me how to remove the first one please?

Hi Rebecca,

In this case, you should head to Dashboard > Bank accounts > Click on the old PayPal account > Click on Transfer > Transfer the balance to the new PayPal account. Then, you can click on the old PayPal account > Click Edit > Archive.

Once completed, you should now only see the new PayPal account, click this, then click Recreate Statement and input the missing fee transactions. Going forward, the new directly integrated PayPal account will import transactions and any fees will be automatically explained.

Perfect - I think that's all working now - Thanks so much for your speedy help!
