VAT MTD Onboarding

Hi,

I received the error message "MTD for VAT: invalid authorisation". Could you please help me with that? Last week I did not have the message and could submit vat.

Hi Tatjana,

The invalid authorisation error would indicate HMRC are rejecting the credentials you have used to authorise. In this case, you must try to authorise with a different set of HMRC credentials you have, otherwise, you must contact HMRC who will be able to confirm the correct user ID you should be using.

Thank you very much. I will contact HMRC. However, I am concerned that I do not have the VAT > MTD Onboarding option in the menu, so I cannot link the software to HMRC. Will this option appear in the menu after I have contacted HMRC?

Hi Tatjana,

No problem and no, the visibility of the MTD onboarding menu is separate, to view this, you must have admin permissions.
