Paypay Issues

Hi everyone,

I’m hoping someone can help as I’m a bit stuck with duplicated transactions.

Most of this seems to have started after issues with our PayPal feed, which brought in duplicate and messy transactions. Because of that, I ended up with lots of duplicate entries. I saw advice on here to delete the duplicates, which I’ve done. However, Clearbooks is now showing 32 “transactions to explain” even though those duplicates have been deleted. They don’t seem to match anything properly, and my totals aren’t lining up.

I also have some bank and PayPal rules set up, so I’m wondering if the PayPal sync problems plus the rules are causing this.

My questions are:

Why are deleted PayPal/bank duplicates still showing as “to explain”? Is this caused by the PayPal feed re-syncing old data? Are my rules re-triggering these transactions? Is there a safe way to reset or clean this up without breaking my accounts? Do I need to reconnect PayPal or rebuild the feed?

Any advice would be really appreciated as it’s become quite confusing.
