Hi Rosemarie,

Thank you for your message.

If you have switched to the new design, the old design is no longer available I am afraid.

If you are able to suggest what is not make things easy, please let us know, so that we can make changes where necessary.

Many thanks,

Lizzie

Thanks Lizzie
As previously stated here when entering new customers I have to keep going in and editing as cannot put all the information on in one go- this does not make it easy especially if entering a lot of new customers in one go.

Hi Rosemarie,

Thank you for you response.

I'll make sure that one of our 'new theme' design members are aware of this niggle. Hopefully this should be less frustrating for you in no time!

Warm regards,

Lizzie

Hi Rosemarie,

When you add a customer the additional customer information can be found on the right hand side of the screen. There should be various links starting with 'Basic Information'.

Thanks

Tim

There have been numerous posts about the poor clarity of the new interface. None of them seem to have been taken onboard. 1. Is is possible to switch back to the old interface? If not why not? 2. What was the the thinking behind the changes? Change for change sake? It's certainly not an improvement. Was it user tested? With different aged users with different capabilities? Did you test it on different browsers. (I'm thinking not at all.) Or did you think screw it we'll do what we want.? Just looked at my list of outstanding invoices and it's a mess. Cramped, small and hard to figure out what's what. Looking round now for alternatives. I think you took something really good and just broke it.

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for letting us know your thoughts about the new theme.

We are continuously working on improving the look and feel of Clear Books to make sure it suits our customers. We spent a lot of time researching and feeding back from customers who tried the new theme out in the labs area of Clear Books. This feedback shaped the product we launched, which we have had a lot of positive reviews about.

However, nothing is ever perfect! We are working away behind the scenes and are hoping to implement changes in the very near future.

Please do bear with us on this, we aim to make Clear Books as user friendly as possible, but its always a case of trial and error with big overhauls! Our intention is to keep Clear Books moving with the times and make things more easy to find, which is in the most part what we have heard from customers.

If there are specific areas you think could be improved we would like to hear about them so we can add it to our list!

Thanks

Tara

Hi
The question I asked was about entering new customers and how difficult it is to do so- particularly when there are several all on the same day and at the same time- I have to go in about 5 times to enter all the info- i.e. address-website etc. It takes a long time and is more work (the old interface was all in one go and very fast). Also when I search for a customer and want to see their address it is now 2 clicks instead of one! I know where and how to do the entries but my point was that it was more work and not sure as Sarah said above what are the benefits of this to us the user?
I do however see that a lot of positive improvements have been made and the reposts side of it now looks really great- my accountant is very pleased with all the information we can now pull form Clear Books and I do still feel it is a great and simple way to do the accounts.
Thanks
Sarah

Hi Both Sarahs!

The idea behind new navigations, such as the one you mention when creating customers, is to keep the screen uncluttered. By sectioning certain areas away, we hope it becomes clearer what options there are available. In the old theme the scrolling of a page went on for a very long time and we wanted to make sure all users knew all the entry fields at a glance.

However, we will look in to perhaps making this section more clear on the right hand side of this section, so thanks for your feedback.

I'm really glad your accountant is pleased, and you're still happy with the software overall!

We always like to hear your ideas so do post if you have any more.

Thanks

Tara
