Transfering money from one account to another

Question asked by Jean Marshall 10 years ago

I am having a problem when I try and make a transfer of funds from one bank account to another. Can someone just talk me through the process of making a transfer. When I pull up the bank account I am transfering out of and either user money out or transfer as the instruction when it goes to the 'explain' option I cannot seem to get it to work without it defaulting to a customers account.

Sounds to me like the Money tab is being used instead of Transfer:

Hi Jean - do you currently use this method:

Head to Money>Manage money>Transfer and fill in the details of the bank you would like to transfer money from

file

Then on the explain screen (below), select the bank account money is being received in to?

file

Is it in screen shot 2 the customer account name appears?

Good Morning. Yes I am doing as you suggest above and when I get to the second screen it brings up a list of my suppliers and not bank accounts. So i dont have an option to chose the second bank account.

Hi Jean,

I have just tested this and it does show the bank accounts in the list so long as you click the transfer tab (Highlighted above). Could you please send over a screen shot of the supplier list you are seeing please. If you prefer you can email this to contact support

Will do . No matter which option I have used either money out or transfer it brings up a list of my suppliers in alphabetical order.

That is strange... I can't get this no matter how I do it. If I see the screenshots I should be able to get to the bottom of it. It is worth noting that if you go to Money > Bank Accounts > Transfer, you do have to press transfer one more time before you fill anything in.

Sounds to me like the Money tab is being used instead of Transfer:
