Question asked by Jamaal Ali 9 years ago

Second question of the day:

We have few self employed staff,is it correct to say that their invoices should be entered as consultancy services under Professional fees code rather than as salaries?

Thanks

Hi Jamaal

Yes, John is correct. If they are self employed they should be giving you invoices for their time or consultancy work.

Hi Jamaal,

Consultancy services sounds more reasonable - however I will forward this to our support accountant to confirm.

Thanks Latha and John for the help

And.....if HMRC ever visit and ask about them, don't call them "staff" !

Thanks Paul for heads up :)
