Deleting old projects from drop down menu

Question asked by Katie Dick 9 years ago

I have just taken over an account and I notice that many years of old projects turn up in the drop down list which will never be used again. To get to my current projects I have to scroll down an enormous list. Is there a way of either sorting the list so that the newest are at the top or 'closing' rather than deleting projects so that they don't appear in the drop down.

Hi Katie,

You can archive projects which will remove them from any drop down lists and the project overview itself. To do that head to Tools>Projects and edit the project:

https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/uploads-eu.hipchat.com/36185/273538/5zUD9XParPxerfE/upload.png

Then select Archived in the status and confirm:

https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/uploads-eu.hipchat.com/36185/273538/Pu3h5D5L6EfoYsT/upload.png

The projects should no longer appear in any drop down lists when creating transactions.

Also As long as the include archived check box is not selected the project overview will no longer display them either:

Thats extremely helpful, thank you very much indeed.
