Dividend payments

Question asked by Lee Mason 8 years ago

Hi, I can no longer work out how to match a dividend payment to myself, all I can do is go Money Out, make a payment and type 'Dividend' in the explanation, whereas before I could at least select 'Lee Mason Dividends' from the explanation and this gave me some confidence that it was registering correctly.

I tried to have a look on your support forum first but I keep hitting broken links, I could not find a descent explanation of how to use the new system unfortunately.

After creating a dividend, can you please tell me the correct steps now to actually pay the dividend?

Thanks,

Lee

Hi Lee,

This guide: https://www.clearbooks.co.uk/support/guides/dividends/new-navigation-make-dividend-payment/ shows the two methods we recommend for paying dividends. The most important thing to do, when explaining the transaction, is to ensure that you use the shareholder dividend account code e.g. Lee Mason Dividends. I double-checked your account and can see the code is set correctly, so that should appear in the 'Account' drop-down menu when using the explain feature. But if there are any problems with this, please do let us know at contact support.

Kind Regards,

Natasha.
