importing data

Question asked by Ali Shaomal 8 years ago

How to import a csv file (design a table) such that all the required fields in clearbooks are imported (filled in) and no explanation is required after importing?

Hi Ali - unless you are talking about using the API then all the various transactions that can be imported are listed, with instructions, under the Tools > Import menu.

Most of the imports contain all the information needed but, in the case of bank imports, you must always go through the explain process. This can be made a lot easier though if you set up bank rules which suggest explanations for you to confirm or edit.

Hi Paul, thank you for your kind and prompt response. I am assuming that if I design the columns in a csv file such that the data relating to each field in clearbooks is imported then I will not have to explain each transaction. The main cause of this query is that I am overseas where the internet connection is slow and non-existent hence thinking of ways to speed up updating clearbooks......
