For any bills I generate with an invoice date prior to 01/02/2017, the options to select VAT rates aren't there. If I amend the invoice date to 01/02/2017 or after, they appear. My VAT effective start date was 01/01/2017, I'm on Quarterly, with end period of April set up in Clear Books. Any idea why this is happening and what I do to resolve it?
I've found the answer to this - on closer inspection, based on incorrect assumption I had set up my VAT registration effective date as 01/02/2017. As a result, two VAT Schemes were automatically created, the first from 01/04/2016 up to 31/01/2016 as Not VAT Registered and the second from 01/02/2017 to date as VAT Registered (Standard).
Based on my VAT certificate effective date, I've now re-built the schemes to show Apr 16 - Dec 16 (Not Registered), 01/01/17 to date (Registered - Standard). All bills are now performing as they should, with the advantage that my quarterly VAT return report is also grouping invoices correctly in period!
