How to clear/Pay - Purchase Invoices posted to the ledger but paid by Directors out of own pocket

Question asked by Michael Foudy 8 years ago

We have some PL invoices on the ledger awaiting payment however these are not outstanding as they have been paid by the owner of the company, is there a way to make payment for these straight to the DLA? if not any suggestions on the best process would be apprciated.

Ah, I see - have you created the DLA on the Settings>Accounting>Codes menu? If so have you created any transactions for the DLA account yet?

It might be best to re-create this as a bank account on the Money>Bank accounts menu:

Hi Michael,

Yes, you should be able to quick pay these bills using the DLA account when filling in the quick pay form. Click on the bill you need to pay and the quick pay form should be to the bottom right:

Thank you John, unfortunately this is an account I have inherited and there are many years worth of transactions posted! I will have a think of how best to proceed.

Perhaps I can setup the new account and journal the closing/opening balance to the new account.
