unallocated payments

We have a long list of "unallocated payments made," how do we go about allocating those payments to purchases made in the past? or do we even need to??? thanks!
Hi Meredith - yes you do need to clear unallocated payments.
If you click on the little green allocate icon it will present you with a list of unpaid bills against which you can allocate the payment. Alternatively, go to a bill, hit the allocate payment button and it will take you to the same page.

Also, Meredith, if these payments were entered in error, you can delete these by heading to Money > Unallocated Cash > Click on the Payment ID > Delete. Otherwise, as Paul mentioned, you would have to allocate these to the relevant bills.
