For the recording of payment to HMRC - can you just confirm if this is a return you created prior to using Clear Books?

For the second issue - It might be best to email contact support so that we can investigate on your account.

Hi,

You can create a VAT payment by creating a money out payment and then coding this to VAT control. I hope this helps.

All the best,

Mohamed.

No it doesn't help. Can you give me the step by step menu for this please.. it is not very intuitive. Many thanks

Hi,

So:

  1. you would go to Money > Bank accounts.
  2. Select money out next to the bank account in question.
  3. Enter the details of the transaction and then click explain money out.
  4. Select HMRC as the supplier and VAT control as the account then click add new transaction

That should record the payment.

All the best,

Mohamed.

  1. There is only one option for VAT and it says VAT Cash Control, not VAT control

So that should record the payment, but how is the payment made when I cannot generate a VAT return?

This is the message I am getting :Please note that a custom VAT report cannot be submitted to HMRC. To submit a VAT return please choose a HMRC supplied obligation period.
