Charitable donation

Please can someone kindly advise me on how to process a charitable donation we have made from our Ltd Co. via JustGiving.

  • Would the VAT rate be Exempt or Exclude from VAT Return
  • Would the VAT treatment be UK VAT or Out of Scope

At the time of donation, I was unsure of the GiftAid rules so I selected no to gift aid, if that bears any relevance.

Charitable Donations are not a consideration for a supply and are a non-business activity that falls outside the scope of VAT.
