Credit card

Hi Please could you help we have a bit of an issue where our credit card balance is increasing which has just come to my attention. We have paid it using a HSBC account but this isnt reducing the credit card balance, is there anyway of correcting this without deleting them so they reduce the balance, going forward am i right to record it as a transfer in the reconciliation screen.
