Wages from CIS scheme

Question asked by Edita Simonyte 3 days ago

I am registered for CIS scheme where the client deducts 20% of total income and sends it to HMRC directly. Let's say my income is £100, I received £80 in my bank account. My understanding is that I have to input £100 as an income, but how do I record the £20 deduction as it is not an expense

Hi Edita,

When recording the income, you must select the CIS Labour Revenue 20% account code. The system will then apply the 20% deduction showing the amount as £80.
