Missed submission letter received despite submitting on time

Question asked by Philippa Fleming 4 days ago

Received missed first quarterly update letter from HMRC today despite me filing on time by Aug 7th deadline. Anyone else had this? An error by HMRC or have I not submitted fully in the clearbooks system? All looked connected to HMRC and submitted on my profile and report history.. Thanks for any help here.

Hi Philippa,

Regarding the letter from HMRC, an update marked as Fulfilled in Clear Books is confirmation that HMRC's systems successfully received the submission. If the deadline was met and the update shows as fulfilled, HMRC typically sends these letters when they are expecting quarterly updates for additional income sources that have not been set up in Clear Books (for example, if you have separate property or rental income in addition to your sole trader business).

However, if HMRC has an erroneous income source listed for you on their records, you will need to contact them directly to have it removed. Alternatively, if you have another legitimate source of income (such as another sole trader or property income), you will need to set up a separate business profile in Clear Books to submit quarterly updates for that source.

You can review your income sources on your HMRC online account, it will show the quarterly updates due and fulfilled.
