Opening balances and payments on account

What's the best way to record either a customer or supplier payment on account when setting up the opening balances so that it can be correctly matched off once the subsequent sales or purchase invoice is entered?

Hi Kevin,

You can do a payment on account through Sales > Money In or Purchases > Money Out then select the date on this as the opening balance.
