Create Credit Note directly from Invoice

Question asked by Johan Ohlin 10 years ago

How do you create a credit note directly from the invoice that you want to credit? I'm quite sure there was a button for that inside the invoice, that also linked the invoice to the credit note. But I can't seem to find it anymore.

Am I blind or is there a new way to do it without having to copy line by line in the new credit note?

Hi,

You can only Credit an unpaid invoice for the full amount. So if the unpaid invoice is for £50, you must credit that whole amount. To do this you can head over to the unpaid invoices and click on the invoice ID you want to credit. Then if you scroll down to the 'Payment History' section and click on options, it gives you the option to Credit the balance.

Thanks,
