PayPal Import - who's using it?

Question asked by Kevin Doran 10 years ago

Potential new client, heavy ish PayPal user.

I haven't had the pleasure this far so wondered:

How easy was the initial setup?

Does it automatically pull everything through?

If so, how often?

Any hiccups?

Anything it can't do or things I need to be wary of?

Hello Kevin,

The import will come in by itself so long as the settings have been put to automatically import.

It will bring in transactions much like Yodlee but the best thing for the PayPal integration is that it includes the PayPal fees when you allocate your invoices and bills.

If your client uses the PayPal in the payment method on the invoice, the HTML view of the invoice will have a button. That button will take the client's customer to PayPal to pay up.

The only issue you may get to is that the currency rates are different to the invoices you will make on Clear Books. When you go to conduct bank import for your main account, the transfer from PayPal to high street bank will need to be explained once. It will show up once on PayPal and the opposite will show up in the high street bank import.

You will need to just explain one of these transfers, not both.

That should be most of it. We have one customer who have quite a bit and he has few issues.
