Amending a current invoice theme and saving it as a separate additional one

Question asked by SONYA JOLLY 10 years ago

Hi I have set up an invoice theme for a client but there is one customer which we need to raise a slightly different invoice for and I thought I could go into the existing one, amend it and then save as a different one. Unfortunately it just keeps saving over the original one.

Is there a way of doing this without me having to draft it from scratch again?

Thanks

Hi Sonya & Kevin,

yes there is a way to get around this. In Settings > Invoice Themes > All you have your list of invoices. Under the one you want to modify, you will see 'Publish' please press this and then go to the Templates tab > Press the green + (Plus) next to the theme and then navigate back to the All tab. You will now see that you have two themes of the same name.

You can now go into the new theme and make any alterations, including the name.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Many Thanks

Chris

Settings > Invoice themes

  1. Click edit on your chosen theme
  2. Amend it as needed
  3. Change the theme name (maybe this is the part you've been missing)
  4. Save theme (down the bottom)

New theme should then be showing within the 'all' tab.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, but that is what I have been doing - it just keeps showing only 1 under 'my themes' when I need 2 separate ones there.

Very true - just tried it in the demo a/c.

I'm stumped - sure the tech team will be along shortly. Hopefully there's an easy way around it and you won't have to build a new template from scratch.

Knew there was a way around it, just couldn't put my finger on it! Publish isn't available in the demo which is what threw me off.

Thats great thanks so much!
