Customer statements for all activity in given date range

Idea suggested by CBV Accounts 9 years ago

Original Message

I would like to issue statements to my customers showing all activity on their account in a given invoice or calander date range ie to show paid invoices, part paid invoices, fully paid invoices, unallocated cash received and details of any associated payments from the customer. Is there any way I can do this, or if not could you please introduce this facility?

Also i'd like to be able to email customer statements of this type to a given set of customers in one go.

This would be wonderful as most of my customer fail to understand a proper statement and was to see the credits and debits!

Nice idea! Would a filter on the existing full customer statement menu work?

The ideal for me would be an emailed version of the Running Balance page as currently, I have to do the following for each customer I want to chase:

  1. click a few times to get to the running balance page
  2. set it to the current year (it's a school so it's September to August)
  3. export the running balance to PDF
  4. switch to my mail client, create a new email and attach the file

Some way to select a number of customers and choose to send this type of running balance statement would be wonderful!

Thanks, Colin

John, your idea of a filter on the full statement menu for dates may well be part of the answer. It will certainly help, if you can add it quite quickly please

Colin's solution using the running balance functionality is the way I thought I'd have to deal with it, although that is very long winded and doesn't give sufficient detail from each invoice.

How about sending statements to groups of customers in one go? John, do you have a solution for that as well please?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks - our development team will review all feedback.

As for sending statements out in one go you can do this from the Sales>Customers menu, however it will only send emails to customers who have had their email addresses verified:

This is good but again not quite enough as I only want to send out the statements to a subset of customers and not all!

I did (a long time ago) suggest that it would be useful to be able to apply a tag (or tags against a customer) eg "Bad payer", "2014 debt", etc and then it would be good to be able to email all users with a particular tag.

Hi John

Colin is correct, because I want to do exactly what he's said, although I'd be happy just to be able to select the group of customers I want to send the statements to. I also need to be able to choose which format of statement is sent to that selected group of customers. I'm not too worried about the tagging that Colin has suggested. Obviously the statement format I most want to send in this way is the one I requested at the beginning of this post ie all activity in a given date range.

It's very useful to know the email address has to have been verified for it to send the statement. I hadn't realised that.

Thanks
