The first option. Like many firms we take advantage of cloud storage as its cheap and convenient to store all our records.
We link to Dropbox already for company manuals , plans, health and safety docs etc. That way people allways have the correct version.
I don't want the hassle of managing multiple cloud storage so that's why I'm asking for Dropbox support as they are the largest and most widely used.
Ryan, do you mean a shared dropbox folder that would act as the repository for all your CB documents, especially the ones attached to bills, or do you just want a place to dump the documents where CB's existing document store would go to grab them to pull in to its own document store?
The benefit of the former is that they would always be available to you, whereas, at the moment (or in the 2nd option) CB holds your documents but, if you ever want them back, you have to open & save them individually.
Some people have limited Dropbox space and so using a chunk of it up on archived documents, that you may never need (unless you leave CB), seems a bit of an overkill.
So the ideal for me would be to use CB's "Documents" store (aka PDF Cubed), with a shared dropbox folder for CB to grab, but to add the ability to download single or multiple documents.
Excellent idea - our attachments menu will be updated in future. This functionality is already available in another module we have called PDF Cubed - hopefully the development team will bring this into accounts too.
