I think QuickBooks online does this - would be a very nice feature indeed.

Would be lovely to have - We have a couple of clients that like an email receipt of payment - which is all well and good, but as we grow and more clients require this, going back in to each invoice and generating an email is going to start costing time that could be used elsewhere.

I think it is a must in terms of quality of service. I had overlooked checking it as I had assumed the system was doing it automatically. It doesn't have to be a template for us to custom just a simple automated email thanking the customer for the payment received.

The template is already there, it could use the same one that manually sends when you click email invoice once it's paid.
