Even simpler MTD for landlords

Idea suggested by S S 4 days ago

The UK tax return classifies landlords allowable expenses as: Rents, rates, insurance and ground rents Property repairs and maintenance Legal, management and other professional fees: Other allowable property expenses Residential/non-residential finance costs

There doesn't seem any point in categorising stuff more finely than this in Clearbooks.

Also incomes below 90k) we only need to report consolidated expenses anyway. Since my property is shared I still basically need to run a spreadsheet accounts.

All I need for each quarter is to be able to enter a single figure for

  • income
  • expenses
  • interest

or a simple switch

Hi S,

Thank you for your feedback.

Currently, the system will have a comprehensive list of account codes so users can use the more granular categorisation to help analyse their income and expenses. However, I will pass your feedback onto our Product team to see if we can simplify the account codes to just having MTD account codes enabled by default.
