Invoice auto numbering

Invoice auto numbering was working for some time and now it has gone back to manual. I checked all areas and even sent mail to Clearbooks but no support received yet!

Unfortunately the auto numbering went out of synch when the sequence 2015/ was used - The forward slash breaks the sequence. The technical team are working on resetting the numbering back to the numbering that you are using without the forward slash and will we will update you as soon as this is done.

I would prefer the auto numbering sequence on sales invoices not to be intermingled with the Credit notes numbering sequence. Having a consecutive sequence of invoice numbers is a useful check. Is there any setting to achieve this? If not should this be considered for development?
