Payslip: Gross Salary is not the Gross Salary

Problem reported by Dave Freel 10 years ago

Gross Pay is no longer showing the sum of basic+bonus's on a payslip, instead just showing the basic salary

Haven't checked if this is true for the year-to-date too

Hi Dave,

I've just tried this on the demo - is this what you are expecting?

Hi John,

Looks good, spot on

Cool - this should be applied to all accounts, however if there is a problem on yours just let me know which employees to check.

Hi John,

Following on from this I discovered today that the payroll system update you recently made moved all pre tax adjustments out of the tax calculation (AFTER they'd all been processed). For instance an employee earning 1,500 with 500 bonus was only taxed on 1,500 on the payslip - Even though the correct figures were sent via RTI. Another example employee with a basic salary of 1,500 but a 750 pre-tax deduction for sick days was similarly taxed on the full 1,500.

This has caused several over and underpayments for our last payroll which is frustrating to say the least.

As per advice from talking to Chris this morning I have re-processed the payroll to get the new payslips which are now correct and I can make wage adjustments at next payroll to correct for the error, HOWEVER -

There is now another display issue - The gross pay is showing as the basic pay minus the pre-tax deduction, but the NET pay deducts it a second time

The payslip is displaying correctly but the totals across the bottom are being thrown off by this (affecting all employees with pre-tax adjustments)

Thanks,

Sorry about this Dave,

I have just forwarded this on to our OP development team who are investigating now. As soon as this has been resolved I will let you know.

Thanks John,

Following this Im also receiving a warning for "You currently have 5 outstanding payments for the tax year 2015-16 to report to HMRC. "

I know submitting another RTI would remove this however it would be identical to the one already submitted and may flag a late-RTI submission penalty. Can you remove the warning?

Thanks,

No problem - If you don't submit these payments now they will be ignored once you calculate and submit payments for next month, the message will then disappear once those have been submitted.
