Can't create mileage for directors

Problem reported by Kevin Doran 10 years ago

It seems a supplier has to be set as an employee to be able to use the mileage tool and not a director.

Needs amending...

Perhaps that's it then if it's a known bug. It could be a case of me setting them as a director, trying to create the mileage, being told I couldn't, going back in and setting them as a director again, trying to create the mileage again...bla bla.

Thanks Kevin - I'll keep testing.

As for the director/employee not saving - I raised this a little while ago and it should be fixed fairly soon. I will keep you updated.

No, already added as a supplier.

I have noted sometimes then when a director is added via Supplier > Add it doesn't always add them properly first time round either so perhaps the two are somehow interlinked. I was doing a screenshare with a new user yesterday and we had to set him as a director 3 or 4 times (pressing save each time) for it to actually work.

Hi Kevin - did you add the director from the Expenses menu?

I've had it twice in two days, two different clients.

Who knows then eh, not the end of the world...

Hi Kevin - it doesn't this end. Have just created a new Director supplier and created a mileage claim and it went through OK?

Yes but it only works if you set them as an employee. Set them as a director and it throws an error msg out (when creating a mileage expense claim) saying you first need to create an employee.

Hi Kevin

If I understand you right, this has always been the case.

You establish directors and employees as suppliers, selecting the employment status on the Invoice defaults. This info is then picked up as & when you connect Open Payroll.

Is that what you mean?
