Account names has the same account code

Hi,

We encountered the same problem again when creating a new account.

Please see screen shot and notice that the accounts has the same account code 4001014

Staff cost recharge from UAE to BVI Staff cost recharge from BEnelux to BVI

This is the not first time it happened and we just followed what we were doing when creating a new account, letting the system create the account code automatically.

Could you please check on this?

Hi Cecille,

When entering the actual code upon creating a new account code, you need to be careful to make sure that the one you have entered is not one that has already been used, as duplication is possible if one is not careful.

If you need to delete an account code, you will have to go to all invoices in which it has been used and change the codes to something else, then you will be able to delete it. If you would just like to edit it, you can just click on the pencil symbol and change the details.

Thank you for the information.

However, all the items were ticked for us, so how was this possible?

We do not want a double account code to be happen again hence, I have raised this problem.

Those tick-boxes simply determine whether or not the account code will appear in the 'Account' drop-down box when creating invoices and bills- Show in sales/ Show in purchases. They do not influence the behaviour or details of the actual account code.

If you would like to leave the code in your (Settings> Accountin> Account codes) list but prevent the problem code from appearing in the 'Account' drop-down in invoices and bills, you should untick the boxes.
