Removing unwanted account types

I have a number of 'account types' that have been created erroneously, and I'd like to delete them (they no longer contain any accounts). There doesn't seem to be any way to do this. This is a problem because many of these account types have an identical name to an existing account type, and it's getting really quite confusing.

I've seen https://secure.clearbooks.co.uk/community/ideas/9372/how-to-remove-unwanted-account-type/ from 5 years ago, but that basically says you can't do it. That doesn't seem overly useful to me.

Hi Pete,

I can run this through our developers to see if we can remove the duplicate account types. I will let you know as soon as I hear something.

Hi Peter,

Our developers have removed all the duplicate account types with no transactions. However, we were unable to remove Miscellaneous (1003) Miscellaneous (5013) as there were transactions associated.
