Submitting Quarterly MTD

Hi Suzanne,

There are 3 reasons for why HMRC may not make your MTD Tax Information available:

1. Wrong NI number - please double check your NI number is correct.
2. Not registered for MTD - you can check this by attempting to sign up again with HMRC.
3. Wrong HMRC account linked - you must ensure you use the same HMRC account you used to sign up to authorise.

Hi Tommy I have checked all your points above; 1. NI number is correct. 2. Have deauthorised and authorised again. 3. I only have 1 HMRC account so this shouldn't be an issue. It is still saying the message below

Clear Books cannot access your MTD for Income Tax information

Please check that you are signed up to MTD for Income Tax with HMRC.

Sign up to MTD for Income Tax

Please also check that the Government Gateway ID used to authorise Clear Books has access to the NI number entered.

You may need to reauthorise Clear Books with the correct Government Gateway ID.

In this case, you must submit a support ticket, when logged in, please click the ? icon at the top right and Send Us a Message.

You will need to send us screenshots of gov gateway ID, NI number in HMRC web page after logging in with that ID, the MTD for Income tax income sources in the HMRC web page after logging in with that ID, the authorisation process page by page showing the gov gateway ID and NI number entered.

Hi I need some help syncing my mtd sole trader accounts x2 to Hmrc, I’ve submitted my property one fine, the other 2 have been synced before but not now? I have been through all of the above without any joy.

I have taken a look, you must head to Dashboard > MTD for Income Tax > Scroll down and select the relevant HMRC business income source.

There is no Hmrc business income source to select

You will need to ensure you are in the relevant business by hovering over your business name at the top right, then select the business.

Once selected, you must Dashboard > MTD for Income Tax > Scroll down and select the relevant HMRC business income source. I can see both the Sole Trader businesses showing as an option to select.

Thank you for the screenshot. In this case, could you open the dropdown and then try to scroll down, this should show the other income sources.

I will also raise a task with our Developers to expand this dropdown for the mobile view.
