Paypal imports not importing fees

Problem reported by Asher Jacobsberg 11 years ago

When I import from PayPal it's just showing the amount that comes through to us, so invoices can't be marked as fully paid off.

i.e.
Someone just paid us £12.00. This is showing on the PayPal import as £11.39. So when I allocate it to the invoice the invoice is shown as only partially paid. The £0.61 PayPal has charged us for the transaction is not shown anywhere.

Hi Asher,

I will chase this query up with the technical team now.

If you are explaining the fees from the statement you will first need to explain the PayPal fee by changing the amount to -1 and explaining using the transaction form, once you have done this you can allocate the £10 to your invoice.

Otherwise you can explain fees as Money Out transactions in Money > Manage Money and filling out the details of the Money Out transaction.

Kind regards,

Berhan

Is there any update on this or at least a workaround for how I can mark this invoice as paid?

Hi Diane,

As these are potentially technical issues can you send in a ticket to contact support? I will then be able to investigate further and determine the next course of action

We are experiencing the same situation, we will watch this post for information.

We also have the added complication that we have a US dollar and a UK sterling paypal account, which is not easy to reconcile in the import, as it seems to assume everything is in £'s and we want to maintain a dollar account.

Can you help please?

Hi Asher,

Sorry to hear that it hasn't resolved the issue. I have escalated this to the technical team to investigate.

Kind regards,

Berhan

No, same as last time. Reimporting doesn't seem to help.

I had the same issue a few weeks ago, which I think I resolved by deleting the payment and reimporting. I tried that earlier but it didn't make any difference. I'm trying again now.

Hi Asher,

OK I will raise this with a member of our technical team who will look into the issue.

Kind regards,

Berhan

Yes, it used to work fine and I haven't changed anything about the set up.

Hi Asher,

Could you confirm that you have set up the PayPal import tool by following the steps on the guide?

www.clearbooks.co.uk/support/guides/integrations/paypal-import-tool-guide-2/

The PayPal fees should be automatically explained when imported using the PayPal import tool. If this is not the case then please send in a ticket to contact support so we can investigate further.

Kind regards,

Berhan
