Zero value invoices are rejected when importing

Problem reported by Graeme Loudain 11 years ago

This thread https://secure.clearbooks.co.uk/community/problems/4798/the-invoice-cannot-have-a-gross-value-that-is-zero is marked solved, so I thought I needed to start a new one.

Today I have attempted to import a batch of invoices, some of which were zero value. The error message for the four invoices with zero value was the same:-

Row 14: Net price cannot be zero

Can you fix please?

Thanks

Graeme

Hi Graeme,

Can you send an e-mail with the CSV file attached to contact support? I will then import it on a test account and get back to you once that's done.

Thank you Berhan - you have it now,

Graeme

For the benefit of any others who have this problem, this was the latest response from CB:-

"Hi Graeme,

Thanks for your patience.

Having spoken to the developer who implemented the zero value invoice feature, the 0 items should be possible for both the line item unit price and net price. I have escalated it to them and they have assured me that they will resolve the issue.

The best thing to do for the time being is use the line item unit price until it has been rectified.

All the best,

Berhan Bairu"

I can confirm that by using Unit Price rather than Line Price works for a zero value input. In my instance every invoice is for a qty of just 1 so it's no problem for me.

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for updating other users. It is indeed still with the technical team so someone will contact you once a fix has been made live.

Hi Graeme,

A member of the development team has now fixed this issue so zero value invoices can now be imported with nil values for both unit and net price now. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused to yourself and other users.

Thank you Berhan,

I am clicking the 'solved' icon that appears at the bottom right of my first post on this thread but it does not appear to do anything?

Hi Graeme,

I have reported this to the developer who implemented the feature. It is a fairly new feature however he has identified the issue and made a fix for it that will go live later today.

Please let us know if there are any further queries.
