How to claim motor expenses as part business, part personal

Question asked by Daniel Cheater 10 years ago

My husband is a sole trader builder and drives a van as his only vehicle. I want to claim 70% of all his vehicle costs as business and 30% as personal, is there a quick way to do this or do I have to split each receipt when I explain the transaction and put 70% to motor expenses and 30% as drawings?

This would normally be handled come year-end by making a quick adjustment.

Is that something you'd be happy with or would you rather the figures were constantly correct?

That would be fine but i'm not sure how to do that on Clear Books? I am meeting with an accountant soon so hopefully they will be able to help
