Individual user permissions

Question asked by Michael Viscione 10 years ago

Hi,

I know I am contacting you from a user account within the business Rosdon Group UK however my request is for a company wide question which I have permission to ask.

At the moment we have assigned users to our company under the role "sales people"

This is running perfect however we want these users to only have permissions to see invoices and customers which they have created. Is this possible?

We would also like the "parent accounts" to see all customers and invoices and all privelidges.

At present every user can see every invoice/customer which does not work with our business model as we want our sales people to only have records of their own sales and customers

Look forward to your reply

Hi Michael,

Whilst it is possible to restrict a users access so that they can see only invoices and customers, it is not yet an option to only see that which you create only.

You can, of course, have different permissions tailored for each user, however within each section (except expenses) they will see everything.

I hope that clears things up for you, Michael.

All the best, Chris

I am unaware if this is something in the pipeline, Michael, however please feel free to add it to the ideas section here on Community for it to be put out there for other users as well as our team to see.

Chris

thanks for this, I am going to try get my head around projects and see if this will work for us.

Will you be making this an option in the future as we do not really want sales people seeing our total incoming from other reps

You can set up 'projects' and assign each invoice to a project whereby each employee would be a project. This way you can create reports according to a project and see the total.

is there a way to seperate invoices per sales person therefore they get reports on what they have sold only?

I just realized I've posted this to a community and not to clearbooks customer service :)
