Showing account types in drop down boxes to make finding account names easier?

Question asked by John Timbrell 10 years ago

At the moment as far as I can see - the account names are grouped by category & we can see the category in the drop down boxes. Then we can chose to order account names alphabetically or numerically as per their codes within the categories. Is there anyway of showing & grouping by account type in the drop down box? For example - I have split out account type "professional fees" in to various account names - such as solicitors, accountants, bookkeeping etc but these appear all over the place under the category Admin Expenses & are difficult to see. Many thanks

Hi John

Do you mean the dropdown box when creating a bill? If so, the only way to sort as far as I know is alphabetically or by code. Therefore, to achieve what you want you'd have to make sure the codes are ordered to your liking - might take a bit of effort.

I personally just list them alphabetically, tab across then start typing in the account name and it appears.

Thank you for your reply Kevin - yes - the drop down to select account name on the create bill window. I think I may have named my accounts differently with hindsight to have a prefix of the account type...

Will you be predominately using the software to create bills or your clients?
