CIS Deductions suffered

Question asked by Nick 9 years ago

CIS deductions I have been trying a demo version and CIS is really important to me I have had a few queries answered but have a final one Most of the other things seem OK and I like your interface more than Kashbooks and my accountant seems happy with it For CIS I am a both a subcontractor and a contractor Sometimes I deduct tax from my subbies and this seems to be easily covered However, I cannot see how it works the other way Sometimes I am a subbie to other "contractors" and I have tax deducted from me and I can't see how this is handled I need to reconcile the deductions suffered both in terms of allocation tax taken to "pay off the invoice" and taking the tax taken off my liability to HMRC Can you please help with this? Sorry if this is covered already but not been able to find it! Thanks Nick

Hi Nick

Your accountant will understand what i'm saying here....

Unfortunately Clear Books doesn't offer a P32 report so integrating CIS deductions made/suffered with your normal PAYE liability is a right faff quite frankly. I do a fairly big workaround which i'd be happy to share but as it stands I honestly don't feel Clear Books handles the whole thing well enough.

Personal opinion of course, I believe there are people out there managing to use the CIS functionality so it's quite possibly me just being a moany git!

Feel free to get him to give me a bell sometime and i'll happily talk him through a few bits.

Thanks Kevin The whole CIS thing is a faff I am an unpaid tax collector of other peoples tax and then HMRC fine me if I get it wrong! .... and then there do not seem to be any solutions that do everything required! I will pass on to my accountant for his views Cheers Nick
