Calander email notifications

Question asked by David Gibbs 8 years ago

Does anyone know if there is a way that clearbook can email notify specified email addresses for each item added to the calander?

I would like an email each time an invoice/ cos return/ vat return etc become due?

This would be a very handy tool as I would like to notify specific people with my company for separate items.

Hi David,

I am not familiar with the calendar application on MS Office 365, but a quick search seems to imply that it supports iCal feeds, so I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

I will raise an improvement for a more advanced calendar application with email notifications in Clear Books.

Regarding the app, it has indeed been pulled. We hope to have its replacement out later this year, but I cannot be more precise than that, at the moment.

I hope that helps.

All the best.

Hi David,

Unfortunately this is not something Clear Books can do, however it is possible to set up iCal feeds to more advanced calendar applications which would have functionality like this.

This would allow those applications to be able to see the Clear Books calender and pull in the items on it.

You can set up the feed from the Settings > Configure system > iCal screen.

I hope this helps.

All the best.

Richard, thanks for the response, are you aware of these feeds work with outlook on microsoft 365?

This would be an amazing function for CB to facilitate, a completely functional calander that you can set up ite s as well as invoices and the other stuff automatically adding to the calander when generated, I would be good if the user was then able to open each entry and set an email notification where they can add an email address as time then an email reminder is automatically sent to those addresses when the item hits the trigger date and time.

So for instance, and invoice becomes due, an email is then sent to the specified email addresses so that person knows to chase it up with accounts and the client and doesn't specifically have to be the user operating the CB and also would not have to log in and check the CB calander each day?

Is this something that can be put forth to the powers that be to see if it can be added in?

Also different topic but there doesn't seem to be a CB iOS app any more, when will this be returning so that the CB can be accessed via mobile device app rather than on an internet window on the mobile device?

Thanks.
