Lots of old issues appearing here?

Question asked by Paul Scholes 8 years ago

Hey CB peeps, what's with all the old posts suddenly appearing, is it a way to get rid of recent questions and problems as they fall off the page? :)

Hi again Tommy - this is getting worse, can't someone there stop irrelevant old post cluttering the Community screens. The overview screen shows 5 Questions and Problems and, at the moment, 3 of each are old junk, meaning current posts are vanishing too quickly.

Hi again Paul,

Ah, apologies. Our team has been trying to clear unanswered questions, so when we click Best Answer, they bump up the post. I have spoken to someone and there isn't anything we can do. Alternatively, you could click on the Unanswered tab which should list the questions in order.

Thanks,

Tommy

Ha Ha - it may be unexpected to you but ask around there, it's happened for years :)

Hi Paul,

Ah, I see - for those posts, we are linking old request to our instant management software and it seems to update them automatically onto today's overview. It is an unexpected behaviour and thank you for pointing it out to us!

Thanks, Tommy

PS: great to have to option now to vote that my answer is the best one!!!

Hi Tommy - sorry if I'm being thick but looking at a couple of them, they were answered years ago and so having them appear on today's overview proves or improves nothing, as no new answer or comment has been added. It also looks bad from an outsiders point of view as it makes it look like you've taken 5 years to answer a user's question.

This can also be confusing in that the answers given X years ago may now be wrong. Look at the removing old employees one for example.

Morning Paul,

Currently, we're trying to clear up the unanswered community questions and notifying users of ideas that have been implemented which have built up over the years. This will also help us categorise and prioritise current ideas for our development team to look into.

Thanks,

Tommy
