VAT Account Missing?

Question asked by Geoff Meads 8 years ago

Hi,

I understand from my accountant that, when explaining a payment to HMRC for VAT I need to recocile this witht he 'VAT Control' account (8502001) in order for the payment to deduct from the dashboard 'VAT owing' figures. However, when I go recocile a VAT payment to HMRC I am only presented with the choice of 'VAT Cash Control' and 'VAT payable' (see screenshot attached). When I use either of these the VAT is not deducted from the amount owing to HMRC.

How do I allocate a payment to VAT Control without having to do a journal everytime please?

Thanks,

Geoff.

Hi Geoff,

To make this code appear in dropdowns, you should go to Settings> Accounting> Account codes and make sure that VAT control is set to 'show in purchases'.
