You are trying to process a transaction that precedes or is in a locked accounting period

Hi, Just trying out Clear Books and have come across first problem whilst trying to create a bill. I keep getting the message:

'You are trying to process a transaction that precedes or is in a locked accounting period. Manage accounting periods here.'

I was in the correct (current) accounting period but still cannot work out what I am doing wrong. I have tried changing the open accounting periods (currently all are unlocked) and changing dates but still get the same message. The date of the bill is 31/12/2017 and due date is 30/01/2018.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Guess I must have done something wrong when I set up the account - I reset the data and now everything is working fine.
