Final Dividends

Question asked by Jennifer Adams 7 years ago

I'm new to Clearbooks so be kind! I've created dividends for the end of the accounting year. But the voucher shows 'interim' - the dividend is final not interim. How do I change?

Hi Jennifer

I can't remember the last time either I or any of my clients took final dividends and with most SMEs I know taking them monthly or quarterly I'm pretty sure this is the norm.

If you need Final divs then the html versions of the documents can be edited in Word to change the wording and amend the minutes to shareholders'

Hope that helps

Hi Jennifer,

I appreciate your feedback, however, there will be companies who may choose to declare dividends before their final financial statements. However, I do agree that we should implement a separate document for final dividends.

Thanks,

Tommy

You are joking!

Whose idea was that!

Hardly any shareholder takes interim dividends - if they take dividends then they are nearly always final.

All that is needed is a choice on the screen between interim and final.

Words fail.

Hi Jennifer,

Unfortunately, at current we do not support a document for final dividends. The documents at the moment are interim dividend approvals. I will forward this suggestion onto our Support Accountant and Development team for review. Hopefully, in the future we could implement a final dividend document.

All the best,

Tommy
