Can I importing sales invoices via csv, when I have 6 field of data that need to go into the description for each item?

I have been looking into batch imports and have read that many people have recommended using the csv option due to speed issues with batch imput. I am invoicing for a particular customer that requires 6 separate lines of data within the description of each item billed.

It is not quite as simple as taking the 6 pieces of info and setting them into the field one after the other. Each bit of data requires a title prefixed as it is mostly numerical, load numbers, leg numbers, and identification numbers etc.

Does anyone already use anything that helps build the this kind of data set for the csv from multiple excel cells in to a single excel cell?

Hi Helen,

Unfortunately, at current, to import an invoice with 6 line items, you would have to have 6 rows for each item where you are required to input a description in the Description column for each row. If these descriptions are the same, you can copy and paste this for every row. Do you have an example CSV file that you are able to send over to contact support so I can take a look?

You can use the 'concatenate' function in Excel.

I will send over the source files so you can see what I have to draw the data from etc, these are what I would use to create a specific cvs file for import.
