Email templates - how to remove statement section

Question asked by Adam Elliott 6 years ago

I’ve set up custom email templates for quote and invoice emails.

However, both templates automatically include all the info on the ‘Detail’ tab when I click to send them to a customer. This is my code for the quote template

Hi ::their_name::,
Many thanks for your enquiry - please find your quote, ::invoice_number:: attached.
If you’d like to go ahead, please let us know as soon as possible, and we can get everything booked in for you.

As you can see, no tags / links to summary section or signature, but they both appear. I’m happy so show the signature, but I don’t want to include all the info from the ‘detail’ tab - how do I switch this off?

Hi Adam,

An email that requires invoice/billing or statement information from the system. So all the email templates use the details heading to some extent.

Hi Adam,

These aspects of the email are automatically populated as you have observed.

The only way to remove this information would be to remove the data from the Details heading in the Email Templates screen. To make you aware doing this will also affect all other types of email that are sent and include a variety of the information included in the Details heading.

Alternately, when you are sending out the Quote via email you are able to modify the information in the email before this is transmitted. So you could remove the information manually that you would like to omit. This method would leave other forms of emailing still intact.

Hi Theo

Thanks for that. Aside from the email invoice and email quote, what other templates will this effect?

Thanks Adam
