Re website response
Question asked by Michael Goddard 7 years ago
Am I alone in getting slow dial-up responses from the website? It has been poor over the past few days, but today it has become unusable

Hi Aran
It was indeed just a turn of phrase!
Our ISP is Reach Digital Telecom via an ISDN connection.
Strangely enough the website is behaving perfectly normally this morning, but the connection I am using to communicate with you has the same huge time delays on it. It must have something to do with an intermittent condition affecting our connection.
Thanks again
Michael
Hi Michael,
We did have a problem with our connection yesterday, however, I am not sure as to whether or not it affected users. Otherwise, everything has been up and running properly in general.
When we hear of these types of problems, it is usually to do with the user's internet provider's connection to Clear Books, rather than the software. So it might be worth checking that.
Hi Aran
Thank you for taking the trouble to reply to my post. I have checked our router and find that other websites behave normally.
A typical response time for Clearbooks working is 10 seconds and occasionally up to 30 seconds. This is making it impractical to continue working with the system. Do you have any suggestions for diagnostics that I can try at this end.
Typing this has taken ages as I am having to wait while the typed text appears on the screen!
Regards, Michael
Hi Michael,
To test this, I logged in as you to all accounts in which you are a user and I found that they are all loading pretty quickly. None of our monitoring tools are showing any issues either.
Who is your internet service provider? We can try to run some checks.
By the way, I am not sure if it was just a turn of phrase but Clear Books isn't really usable over dial-up and needs a broadband connection.
